CARDEL HOMES TEAMS WITH RIGGERS

Cardel Homes has partnered with the Calgary Roughnecks as the club’s official home builder. As a result, three lacrosse programs supporting local children’s charities have been developed.

Run with the Roughnecks is a program designed to provide an opportunity for children to participate at a professional lacrosse camp conducted by Calgary Roughneck players. The camp will be held on April 22, 2006, at Cardel Place, and 120 boys and girls will be chosen from entries submitted throughout the season. Scouts will be out at entrants’ games and practices to choose the lucky children. Run with the Roughnecks provides the children with professional hands-on lacrosse instruction and all children participating will be rewarded with Run with the Roughnecks jerseys and other prizing.

Cardel Kid’s Zone. Cardel Homes has secured a whole section in the Pengrowth Saddledome and tickets for this section are being provided by Cardel Homes directly to local children’s charities and associations to create the opportunity for children to attend Roughnecks games.

Cardel Goals for Kids. Cardel Homes continues to support Calgary children with the Cardel Goals for Kids. For every Calgary Roughnecks goal scored at the Pengrowth Saddledome during the 2006 season, Cardel Homes will donate $100.00 to local children’s charities and associations.

Scoring a big one for kids….Cardel Homes.

TAYLOR WRAY, DEVAN WRAYSCORE
“POINTS FOR KIDS” WITH
CANADIAN WESTERN BANK

Calgary, AB (Feb 10, 2006) –
The Calgary Roughnecks are proud to announce that brothers Taylor and Devan Wray along with Andrew Biers have teamed with KidSport Calgary and Canadian Western Bank to help raise money for local lacrosse players in need.

This is the second year of the program, which is called “Points for kids” “It’s a great opportunity for us to help out in the community and especially KidSport who helps children from low income families participate in the game of lacrosse,” said Taylor Wray. “We look forward to helping these young lacrosse players in Calgary and surrounding areas.”

Mitch Redshaw, Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Roughnecks said, “The money these players are raising is making a huge difference for Kidsport and the lacrosse community. The money raised in the first year of the program($3000.) and now this year ($4000.) couldn’t have been done with out the outstanding support of the Canadian Western Bank.”

The “Points for Kids” program works like this: Over the course of the Roughnecks season, Canadian Western Bank agree to donate $100 dollars for every point the three Riggers score up to a total amount of $4000. The total amount will be donated to KidSport, who will allocate these funds to local youths to help cover the registration and equipment costs associated with playing minor lacrosse. At every Roughnecks home game fans will be updated as to how much money the three have raised over the course of the season.

KidSport is a national program whose mission is “to overcome the obstacles that prevent some young people from playing sport”. Since 1995, KidSport Calgary has provided $1,298,620 in registration fees and sport equipment to 8,378 children from low-income families.

Andrew Biers, is now entering his second season with the ‘Necks, after being traded from San Jose. “As a Calgarian I fell very privileged to help these local kids get a chance to play the game they love”, said Biers. “The young local lacrosse athletes are very important in helping develop the game of lacrosse and are the up and comers to our league.”
