CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks announced Monday that forward Josh Sanderson has been voted in to the Western Division All-Star starting lineup.
Sanderson leads the Roughnecks in points with 35 including 11 goals and 24 assists. The 31-year-old native of Orangeville, Ontario also sits seventh in the league in points, tied with San Jose Stealth forward Colin Doyle who was also voted to the National Lacrosse League's All-Star starting lineup.
In his most recent play, Sanderson tallied five points (2g, 3a) and 11 shots on goal as the Riggers fell 13-12 to the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, making it their first loss of the regular season.
Others that will be joining Sanderson in the Western Division lineup include Doyle, forward Dan Teat of the Edmonton Rush, transition player Brodie Merrill and netminder Matt Disher of the Portland Lumberjax and defenceman Bruce Murray of the Colorado Mammoth.
Starting lineups were determined by votes from the league's general managers, media and fans. Eastern and Western team reserves will be announced later in the week.
The National Lacrosse League's All-Star weekend kicks off March 6 when Denver's Pepsi Center plays host to the NLL All-Star Skills Challenge. The West All-Stars will face off against the East All-Stars on March 7th at 7 p.m. MT.
Live coverage of both the Skill Challenge and the East vs. West Game can be seen on the NLL Network at NLL.com.
