CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks announced today the signing of forward Dane Dobbie to a three-year deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed and are subject to league approval.
Dobbie, who enters his third-straight season with the Roughnecks' club, tallied 41 goals and 35 assists for 76 points last season. In that time, the 22-year-old scored 15 power play goals, two game winning goals and collected 83 loose balls.
The native of Elora, Ontario, finished third in the league in goals, a mere 10 behind Buffalo's Mark Steenhuis and John Tavares, who both led the league with 51 goals overall.
Dobbie was originally drafted in the first round of the 2007 NLL Entry Draft.
During the summer months, Dobbie suits up for the Coquitlam Adanacs of the WLA. Dobbie led the Adanacs in points this season with 65, scoring 31 goals and 34 assists in 16 regular season games.
In five playoff games, he currently sits first on his team in points with 23 (13g, 10a). The Adanacs recently knocked off the Victoria Shamrocks in the first round of the playoffs 4-1. The Adanacs will face the New Westminster Salmonbellies starting August 15 in Round Two of the best-of-seven series.
