The Calgary Roughnecks got into the holiday spirit and gave back to those children in need this Christmas by collecting toys for the Salvation Army's 15th Annual Toy Mountain. Andrew McBride and Bruce Codd delivered over 250 toys to the LITE 96 radio station Tuesday morning.
Thank you to those who generously donated to the collection. The Roughnecks collected approximately $7,000 worth of board games, monster trucks, make up, Lego, stuffed animals and more.
“It's great to be given the opportunity to give back to those who not only need it, but appreciate it most, this time of year,” said Roughnecks' captain Tracey Kelusky.“Being able to put a smile on a child's face Christmas morning is very uplifting.”
Last year's Toy Mountain collected over 30,000 toys for the Salvation Army's Christmas hamper program. Toy Mountain is presented by Petro-Canada and LITE 96 in collaboration with the Salvation Army.
