We’re a month into the summer lacrosse season and the Roughnecks’ players are making their presence felt in Ontario’s Major Series Lacrosse, B.C’s Western Lacrosse Association, and the professional field lacrosse loop (Major League Lacrosse).

Peterborough Lakers forwards Curtis Dickson and Holden Cattoni combined for one of the most exciting plays of the month when Cattoni ripped a goal past Oakville Rock netminder Steve Fryer and Dickson immediately dropped the mitts with the Rock’s Jason Noble.

Superman showed he can swing when he has to.

Cattoni currently sits 11th in MSL scoring with 24 goals and 11 assists in just seven games. In the same number of games, Dickson has scores 13 goals and 11 assists.

Superman has been busy also playing in MLL for the New York Lizards. During his six games with the Lizards, he’s registered 13 goals and one assist.

Over in Oakville, Rock righty Wesley Berg has been lighting the lamp. With 20 goals and 14 assists in nine games, Berg has himself sitting 12th in league scoring. His teammate Dan MacRae has a goal and an assist, both shorthanded, for the Rock.

Berg, like Dickson, has spent time in the MLL with the Denver Outlaws. He has eight goals and a pair of assists in his five games.

Vaughn Harris has been playing very well with the MSL’s Six Nations Chiefs, recording 13 goals and 8 assists in nine games. Tyson Bell has a goal and a dozen assists in his nine games with the Brampton Excelsiors, but he has also put up 49 penalty minutes.

Transition player Mitch Wilde has been showing off his offensive abilities, netting two goals and seven assists in nine games with the MSL Brooklin Redmen. Sticking in Brooklin, net minder Zach Higgins has a 6-4-2 record with an 8.54 GAA and a .758 save percentage.

Defenders Chad Cummings has a pair of assists in seven games with the MSL Cobourg Kodiaks.

Moving out west, goaltender Christian Del Bianco owns a 16-1 record and a .838 save percentage with the Coquitlam Jr. A Adanacs of the BC Junior Lacrosse Association.

At the Senior A level, Riley Loewen of the Maple Ridge Burrards sits third in team scoring with 11 goals and 14 assists in six games this summer. Also with the Burrards, defender Garrett McIntosh has a goal and a trio of assists in four games.

Maple Ridge goalie Frank Scigliano has played very well and holds a 6-3 record with a GAA of 9.15 and a .800 save percentage.

In Burnaby, right-hander Tyler Digby has four goals and three assists for the Lakers in just a couple of games. Defender Greg Harnett has a goal and an assists in his nine games with the Victoria Shamrocks.

Rookie Keegan Rittinger hasn’t found the scoreboard in his handful of games with the Langley Thunder.
