Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks announced today their roster for the upcoming 2013 National Lacrosse League season.  The final roster includes five new players with 19 names returning from the 2012 season.

The returning players include 2012 NLL Goaltender of the Year Mike Poulin; Shawn Evans, last season’s team-leading scorer (32 goals, 47 assists); captain Andrew McBride; and assistant captain Mike Carnegie.  Dane Dobbie, who will be serving a one-game suspension to start the 2013 season, allows for an additional protected player on the Roughnecks roster.

Among the five new faces are three of Calgary’s seven 2012 NLL Entry Draft selections: Joe Resetarits (first round, sixth overall), Matthew Dinsdale (first round, seventh overall) and Jackson Decker (second round, 17th overall).  Free agents Aaron Pascas and Brad Richardson complete the Roughnecks roster.

In preparation for the 2013 home opener, the Roughnecks have three on-floor sessions this weekend at Genesis Place (800 East Lake Blvd. NE) in Airdrie.  On Friday, December 21, the new roster will hit the floor at 8 p.m., followed by two practices on Saturday, December 22 beginning at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

Calgary opens the 2013 regular season on Saturday, January 12 when the Roughnecks host the Toronto Rock.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
