Joe Resetarits said back in September that one of his lacrosse idols was Shawn Evans. That may still be the case but there is now a twist. They’re teammates now. After the Calgary Roughnecks used their first draft pick (No. 6 overall) to take Resetarits, the native of Hamburg, N.Y., found himself in camp running drills with Evans. And he’s impressed. Evans, that is.
“Watching him last weekend, he’s all over the place,” Evans told the Calgary Herald. “He finds those tight spaces by the net and finishes. He’s going to be a good player. You want to see (rookies) bump around and play with some energy.” Resetarits says he won’t get caught up in stargazing because the Roughnecks brought him in for a reason. “I want to win a championship — that’s the main thing, for us to get a championship back in Calgary.”
