The Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board announced today that right-handed transition Geoff Snider has signed a two-year deal with the National Lacrosse League (NLL) club.
Prior to joining the Roughnecks in 2011, the 30-year-old Calgary native played four seasons with the Philadelphia Wings, scoring 58 goals and recording 99 assists in 61 regular season games played.
Last season Snider proved to be the top draw man in the league winning 235 faceoffs and scooping up 171 loose balls.
"Geoff had an impressive first season with the Roughnecks and we look forward to his continued contributions as we build our team now and for the future,” commented Board. “He is a tough competitor and a leader with the will to win.”
"I'm honoured to have the opportunity to sign a contract with the Roughnecks,” said Snider. “Being born and raised in Calgary, it was very important to me to continue to be a part of the community and the growth of the sport in Alberta.”
“The Roughnecks have had an amazing tradition of character and championship teams,” added Snider. “We have a solid group of talented athletes for the 2012 season and I am proud to be part of the team."
