The little big man took his game to another level this season. His ability to draw defenders and find open teammates makes him incredibly special.

DANE DOBBIE

If it weren't for missing three games this eason, Dobbie may have ended up the Roughneck MVP. He led the NLL in goals per game, while setting career-highs in that category as well as points-per-game. Only three times this season did he finish with less than five points in a game. Had he played the whole 16-game season, he likely would have been the Roughnecks first 50-goal scorer since Lewis Ratcliff in 2007.

Prior to this season, Evans had previously put up 79 points, which stood as his career highs. This season, he set up 80 goals in addition to tying his career high in goals with 32 for a league-leading 112 points. That also set a new franchise record in points for the Riggers.

It's tough to argue selecting a player who consistently put up points all season. The scary thing about Evans is that he's just getting started. After smashing his career high in assists with 80 and tying his career high in goals with 32, Evans solidified himself as one of the top offensive threats in the game. He also tied the 5th highest point total in NLL history with 112 and broke a 12 year franchise record for points in a game with 13. Not bad for the under-sized right-handed forward from Peterborough.

SHAWN EVANS

If he’s your MVP, then he has to be Calgary’s offensive player of the year. On a potent offence, Evans was the catalyst, everything went through him, and his machinations on the left side of the floor more often resulted in either a goal or an assist, of which he had 80 over the season. He made every other player better.

SHAWN EVANS

After accumulating 112 points in the regular season, including a franchise record set in January for 13 points in one game, it should be no surprise that the offensive effort from Evans earned him acknowledgement around the league, including the NLL's Most Valuable Player. In only his second season with the Roughnecks, the Evans continues to effortlessly move the ball and plays as part of an offensive unit of players, who he set up to score more often than the netted goals himself. Evans led a strong offensive line to success in 2013 and while he would probably trade in accolades for a championship victory, there's no denying the talent he possesses.
